A Christmas musical for 3 - 5s (nursery and reception) to perform. Duration 20/25 mins. Hear the songs below.
Review by Martine Horvath, Early Years Educator magazine, September 2013: "This is a charming, gently humorous and quirky little Christmas musical, specifically written for nursery and reception classes. It is a gift from heaven for frantically busy early years practitioners who do not have the time to reinvent the wheel and produce their own Christmas shows from scratch. You have everything you need, from prop to scenery suggestions, to script, songs and musical score. You do not have to be musical to use this resource and there are even suggestions for performance ideas in term of how you might like to arrange the stage, and so on. It is a bargain in terms of the time and energy it will save you at a very busy time of year. My favourite part is the Jack-in-the-box style pop-up juicy worm surprise for an over excited robin at the end!"
Robin's So Excited! tells the story of a little Robin who gets very excited about the snow, the postman bringing the Christmas cards, the lovely Christmas tree, the nativity story, and cheeky old Father Christmas, as Christmas Day gets nearer.
With songs just perfect for very young voices, lots of opportunities for movement and actions, and a simple, mostly narrated script, this short musical play reflects the excitement of Christmas that young children feel through little Robin's eyes.
The songs can also be used as a collection of Christmas songs for children to sing and enjoy separately (many of them are action songs or can be used for dance or movement activities).
From the feedback we have had, Robin's songs are fast becoming firm Christmas favourites in reception classes, nurseries and pre-school groups!
All of our Christmas musicals come with script, piano scores (with guitar chords) and CD of vocal tracks to listen to and plain backing performance tracks for you to sing along to.
And kindly don't forget to add your Early Bird Performance Licence above, just £15 (bought later £20). This licence is required if you perform your play to parents or other external audience.
